The primary results on the SC trial should be announced next month. The USA NIH site clinicaltrials.gov says that the primary completion date is May 2015. This ties in with the announcement of completion of recruitment for smoking cessation in late January 2015 and a trial time of 11 to 15 weeks. The final completion date is July 2015. I take this to mean that the details of the actual subjects who have managed to quit will be available in May and all the results of the sputum samples will be finalised in July. So next month should be very exciting. As to cPN 10, I don't think that it is reasonable to say that "the formulation did not work for mild lupus". As I understand the situation, the subjects in mild lupus did not have sufficiently elevated levels in the blood markers to allow any statistical reduction. This is not a fail. Recruiting in these trials is always a big problem, especially in lupus as it is a disease which features flares. Sadly, when patients are in remission they are not much interested in the trouble of a trial and when in a flare, they are too unwell to be bothered with the additional effort. I don't doubt that IVX will soldier on with this trial.
