I wonder if you can actually contact the company to cancel the shares you own, thus making a tax loss? Ask them to buy them back for 0 cents, essentially making it 'buy-back' which cancels the shares out.

heck maybe even pay a small fee to them to offload the shares to free yourself and your mind of this disaster.
Atleast you might get a tax break after all... it's such a slow death It's hard to watch.
