The fact that the models they're working with doesn't account for 'cost blowouts' is equally ridiculous.
You've always got to plan for the worst scenario. Clearly they haven't planned for shipping cost blowout and a drop in the cost of IO. How hard is it to run a breakeven analysis and stress test the model for a shipping blowout? Ridiculous.

It's also suspicious that Canacoord was able to get out while retail is left holding the bag. Obviously this is more common in markets than not but what did they know that retail didn't? Caveat: they're big players in mining and likely seeing unit costs blow out before retail so it might not be malicious.
