All of that groundwork has also led to a significant precedent for the Rincon Salar now, with the govt and local communities far more cognisant of issues specific to the salar/rincon resource and the local stakeholders.
It makes sense that with AGY/Puna now having permits to operate a 12ktpa operation, that processing of permits for any adjacent projects will be significantly streamlined; of course they will need to meet the required critieria etc, but imo with this precedent, both the local govt and communities are better positioned to move through the process more efficiently and therefore more rapidly.
The team at Rio will be somewhat relieved at our recent news, imo.
Oh, it will also “improve” the permitting process for a subsequent AGY expansion, say to 24ktpa, if/when that submission is made.
