There seems to me at least a growing resistance to the high price of cobalt with battery manufacturers looking elsewhere for alternatives.

Tesla has hinted that it is “significantly reducing cobalt content”
And..
Panasonic’s senior vice president Kenji Tamura – the man in charge of its energy business – weighed in with comments that further indicating cobalt may soon be replaced by alternatives.
But hey it may take years to scrap Cobalt along with lithium ...oops!
