It’s funny that so many see Rob as the problem. Not surprising, but funny (as in interesting/strange, not so much amusing).

This thread is obviously unbridled absurdity, but Rob is the most balanced and logical of the main posters here. I don’t know why he’s bothering, but other people are talking utter nonsense and he is pulling them up on it (and also getting dragged into the nonsense pissing contests etc). Rob is the response to the problem, not the problem. If you are bothered by him and not the people he is arguing with, you’re incredibly biased and upset because you want people to say what you wish was true without having anyone point out how incorrect your fantasy is.

This announcement was trash. It contains nothing new, it’s literally just yet another announcement showing absolutely no substance at all and a slightly reworded version of claims of progress behind the scenes and promises of ‘imminent’ results which follow years of promises of the same things coming to fruition imminently which didn’t. Hey, we probably will get the permit at some stage but we’ve literally been constantly told that it’s coming within the next few weeks or end of quarter or something similar for literally years now, so saying it’s coming this quarter or next after years of saying the same means nothing, though whenever it does come I’m sure the cheer squad will say ‘See? They delivered on their promise! You can believe them when they say something is coming imminently! Put anyone who doubts their credibility on ignore!’

Similarly, any attempt to say there has been anything to substantiate progress on production is a poor attempt at smoke and mirrors. If there was genuine progress they’d give us details, not vague unsubstantiated ‘trust us, we’re happy with the progress you can’t see, you don’t need details’.

This thread has pretty much zero value to anyone interested in analysis of AGY, but it is a good case study of how much people are prone to cognitive dissonance and how much they despise evidence or common sense which contradicts their desired beliefs.
