I've been an English teacher and the most important thing I learned is that what we were taught at school doesn't apply 100%. English changes over time, culture and purpose, so paragraphs in a business report don't need the intro-body-outro structure that say a persuasive text normally would.
Heck, the word "literally" doesn't literally mean literally anymore. I look down on anyone who misuses that one.
