The Stage 1 ponds are located on the Salonix tenements which are the furthest south on the Salar. The decision to locate the Stage 2 ponds on the Mina Reyna tenement was a combination of factors being it is the largest single tenement and the suitability to have them off the halite zone on higher ground which will avoid them flooding in a rare (heavy) rain event.
