RIO will take to take its for $5USD a share and offer funding to make up the other "$1B" in value loss to shareholders. Who is ALTM really going to tap for funding? We saw LTR struggle with funding and had to take Korean money in exchange for almost 9% of the company in convertible notes. Even Albarmarle did a $2B convertible note sale to raise money in Feb this year.
