I have been holding ORE since the covid years. Sold some and still hold some from the original parcel

What a wild ride it has been! We can all say things in hindsight, to sell at the top, but few could see it clear enough in the moment to act on

Learned a few things in the process:

ORE is a stood out of the lot for having downstream processing right early on

Wanted to buy GXY but missed it by 1 Cent

ORE + GXY + Livent seemed OK at the time then $Li dropped

Bought more during the down turn, bought even more as SP dropped a lot more (% wise) compared to peers

Paul Graves was an investment banker, make sense a bit now

Not sure if the $Li would go back to the high back then. Industries have ways to make necessary things reasonably affordable over time (chicken were expensive in the past but KFC came in and chicken are no longer unaffordable)

How long for SP to get back to previous ATH (if too long then doesn't really benefit that much)

Hopefully some party like Wesfarmers can come in and give RIO a run for its money. Wesfarmers did snatch Coles Group for $17B from the jaw of Walmart so they are capable of outbidding the big guys for the right $. How brave and how heroic for an OZ company to do what they did! And how that turned out so well for them.


Condolences to anyone who got caught out in the process. Hopefully we can all learn a bit from this lesson
