The gist of the article is that RIO will almost certainly not do a BHP and spin out of the energy and minerals segment. Rather, Alan Davies will be tasked with making the assets saleable by having a focus on cost cutting so that the margins make them desirable for sale.
Watching this segment will be interesting. (it will not be profitable as the others - just much more exciting).
