I think our proximity to China, rising costs of everything and china’s domestic environmental concerns around lithium production and mining makes a project not in their own backyard but rather their next door neighbour’s (Thailand’s) very viable and appealing. I like Paul’s reference to Australia being the ‘stranded’ resource relative to a Thai project when it comes to servicing Asian markets.

what’s very relevant for us here at MAT is our partner being at the front and centre of a recent environmental issue halting their production of lepidolite … the easiest way to get around environmental legislation would be to conduct business in a country that doesn’t have the same red tape lol




also I’m wondering, lepidolite projects typically aren’t very high grade by nature … PAM is getting avg 0.44% LiO for their resource statement … China is using anywhere from 0.3-0.6% grade resources. Yet our ‘whole rock’ samples are grading significantly higher… I’m not familiar with ‘whole rock’ samples, are they similar to rock chips? Or an actual representation of what would be pulled out of the ground for beneficiation or processing etc… ? If they are just another way of saying ‘rock chips’ then I’m guessing we should just be expecting similar grades for a standard lepidolite project ?
