Wilding is keen to restart drilling at Currans later in the year.
This won’t be part of the MRE or the DFS, but Currans is an exciting prospect that could deliver us a special Xmas present.
Currans differs from the rest of Youanmi because Rox has a 90% stake and a prospector 10% free carried.
Currans wasn’t part of the original JV with Venus, but former Rox CEO Passmore was keen to include it.
Passmore and Venus CEO Hogan stitched up a separate deal with the prospector.
In 2023, Rox had a blind hit at Currans with a single RC drill, discovering a 6m wide quartz lode with high-grade gold.
6m @ 5.22g/t Au (inc 3m @ 9.47 g/t) from just 29m (see below).
The history of major finds at Youanmi features similar wide quartz lodes with high-grade ore.
Surprisingly, Rox CEO Rob Ryan didn’t follow up, saying only that they were focused on near mine exploration.
Currans is just 22 kms south of the old mine.
Currans has the potential to deliver a significant discovery and Rox will drill there late this year.
The second revelation that jumped out from the live version is that Wilding is keen to do greenfield drilling along Rox’s 60 kms of the Youanmi Shear.
This will be late in the year and likely ongoing and won’t be in the MRE or DFS.
Both Passmore and Ryan were keen to find the next Penny Gold (Ramelius).
But they lacked the funds to do all the exploration needed and were short on expertise.
Rox now has the cash and some of the top gold hunters.
Wilding and his geo team, along with Hawke’s Point technical experts in support, would have been chaffing at the bit while looking at the digital map of the Youanmi shear showing every drill hole and the latest geological data.
Youanmi will generate a $2B cash flow says Wilding.
But discoveries at United North, Pollard, Currans and along the 60km Youanmi Shear Zone could double or triple that.
