Yes even then there did seem to look like quite a bit of overbreak in the first part of the decline from the photos so I can see why they would use shorter steels .

I think it is a DD4 22i rig which have up to 6 meter steels there is a photo of it in the 9 sept ASX announcement
The DD4 221 can also be automated (like they do at Jundee) which gives them extra run time per shift I do not know if they have that automation ,
Also in the presentation tony mentioned the decline is 5.8 * 5.3 so a bit smaller than 6 *6 - so less total waste to remove .
Interesting from the video James purchased a screen or apron feeder for guessing the primary crusher from Northern star's Thunderbox mine .
I did not realise an advance on a single heading could be over 250 meters a month even in fresh rock but I will take your word for it as have never mined underground apart from playing around with an airleg !
