not like ALK. SVY actually did lot more drilling than ALK and are not even a producer. I've been slapped a lot because I am critical of ALK because they don't drill enough and sending mixed messages. Why did you ask this.. lol.. now I have to let my guts spill..
SVY stick to their message but they seem to be too enthusiastic with the timelines. But from what I can see it is as you pointed out - delays from the LAB and consultants. LAB also impacted them. Land access and rain played a role too.
SVY did all they can from their end - drilled the shite out of Thursday Gossan. They even drilled it on a tighter grid than needed just to be sure, to be sure. Credit to them.
Now to ALK.. lol
On the other side ALK kept saying they were not drilling for a resource but only to get better understanding of this huge system however they kept staying around hole 007 and only moved to the south. Only Boda2 has been drilled in the manner they said - to better understand this large system. Boda3 has hardly been touched.
Kaiser has hardly been touched only 3-4 holes (going by memory) in the last 3-4 quarters.
And hardly any drilling north/west from Boda/Kaiser. Actually not a single RC or Diamond hole there for last 3 years if I remember right. So how do they get better understanding of this large system??
Then all of a sudden - we are drilling to define a resource. lol
My view is, they tried to attract more institutional interest and they've been told to wake up and someone must have told them to look at CHN to see how things have to be done once you have discovery.
By now there should have been decent size resource at Boda, Boda3 should have seen as many holes as Boda2 and rest of the system (north/west from Boda/Kaiser) should have seen half the holes from Boda2. That's how one builds better understanding. Geophysics, AC drilling and soil sampling can only take you so far - they help to build a theory that needs to be tested by real drilling.
I made it long story now.. but in short ALK need to focus and send clear message what they are trying to do. If one says one thing but does the opposite then it will take lot of time to get the results and support from instos. ALK should have been trading at $2 by now.. Last 3 years I've been screaming to try different drill orientation and the "I have full confidence" and "Ian knows what he is doing" brigades would come in force.. But guess when ALK started getting real results.. when they started drilling north/east-south/west direction with occasional scissor holes.
And to be clear I hold very large position in ALK. They are not irresponsible but, in my view, they do need more professional management. They are seating on a monster, drilling it for 100 years (very slow pace, country style) and have nothing to show for. Even the resource they are planning to release, will be on very small area around the high grade at Boda. Discovery hole was back in 2019 (close to when CHN and SVY made discoveries and it is worth to compare that the other 2 have done in terms of drilling).
