In their previous announcement regarding alliance with RMIT on 02 May 17, MXC stated;

'MXC will apply for a Medical Cannabis Licence specifically for all cultivation and research to be undertaken at the secure RMIT facilities'
and
'Pursuant to the Umbrella Agreement, MXC will apply to the Office of Drug Control (ODC) for Medical Cannabis Licenses for cultivation, production and research programs being undertaken at the secure RMIT facilities. The Company has engaged an independent expert who has already completed the relevant MXC license applications.'

In today's announcement, MXC state;
'Medical Cannabis Licence application for cultivation and research at RMIT now completed'
and
'MXC Australian Cultivation License
Under MXC’s Australian medicinal cannabis research and cultivation license to be submitted to the Office of Drug Control, which has now been finalized with the execution of the Umbrella Agreement, RMIT and MXC will also begin pre-clinical trials to investigate the positive effects of medicinal cannabis on melanoma. Once the MXC cultivation license is obtained, the pre-clinical research will commence at RMIT’s state-of-the-art facilities in Melbourne. MXC will fund the research and all IP resulting from the trials will belong to MXC, which it will then seek to patent with IP Australia.'

Today's announcement appears to be consistent with the previous announcement regarding the cultivation licence, though I believe the licence is only applicable to allow cultivation specifically for the research being conducted in partnership with RMIT. This would suggest that the licence is only valid for this purpose and not valid for cultivation and production of their products outside of the umbrella agreement...
