Pala are a swiss investing group who have been mentioned here a few times because their names are popping up on registers of gold companies in the goldfields. They have a sizable stake in AVO (who announced a takeover of DIO) and are currently building a stake in IGR. Its one thing to invest in a company, but it can quickly turn into something else when several companies mining for the same thing in the same region have an interest from the same investor - in this case Pala,, hence the chatter.
It is also significant because a few have suggested that a few companies in the eastern goldfields should merge to leverage their assets.
