I figured that so far it’s been high cap funding institutions taking up (and playing?) any  pool of ‘loose’  shares on the register - MUFG, First Sentier, Euroz … even Tembo - all essentially passive, and perhaps more interested in gains  from profit-taking than  through  riding the company long-term.
It would be useful to have a solid core of holders who have a long term view who will not necessarily dump and run if/when the black swans fly past.
That point about Mark Zeptner  saying  Ramelius had “no current intention to acquire control or make a takeover offer for Spartan”, but that is also subject to the “actions of Spartan or any third party”.
can also be read that it may step in as a - potentially useful - ally in the event of future hostile bids/shorting attacks/whatever?

But my disclaimer is I  don’t have experience of how these ‘games’ work …

    cheers
