I think you underestimate the potential to convert many people into 'hobbyists' with this lower price desk top 3d printer
- being able to make fun things like guitars, toys, objet d'art...has very broad appeal
- there is also a big market in schools, clubs, SME's...
- the major accelerator for Robo is giving away cool software to help people get started
- don't forget many large corps didn't believe in the need for PC's / or home printers
- people like cool gadgets
