Panic by the greedy banks and the money hungry. The metrics of change are always the same. shock, resentment, then grudging acceptance before embracing the new order. The money makers will very soon adapt. The chagrin of the European Empire builders may take a little longer. Right now they fear that their empire will implode. Merkle at least is more gracious believing they should work for an amicable exit for the UK.
On another point, just think of the billions per year the UK will save by not having to pay its annual subscription. Germany thinks it will cost them an extra 2 billion a year to contribute its share to the loss of UK's contributions.
