Rock chip results don't usually worked out well for grassroots project.
However, Pontax is
not a grassroots project, historic drilling returned high grade intersections.
- 9.0m @ 1.7% Li2O from 46.9m
- 15.6m @ 1.6% Li2O from 83.9m
- 4.8m @ 2.6% Li2O from 19.4m
- 13.0m @ 1.4% Li2O from 36m
These rock chip results look promising imo.
Rock chip results of up to
3.3% Li2O,
80m south-west of PontaxCentral, expand the known strike length to 700m, remaining open inall directions.
At the adjacent Pontax North target, rock chips over a large surface area revealed spodumene-bearing pegmatites with high grade results of
2.5% Li2O, 1.4% Li2O and 1.3% Li2O. This
confirms the potential for a replication of Pontax Central to the north.
High-grade tantalum results up to
857ppm Ta2O5 outside of Pontax Central and Pontax North indicate
significant regional potential with a sizeable lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatite system now identified over more than
20km strike.
I remember I read about this a while back. The Western Australian deposits of
Greenbushes and Wodgina.
Tantalum (by-product) grades in these deposits
range from 100 to 400 ppm.
Next update would be interesting, it would be great to see if they could find good intervals at depth other than the 37m intersection from the other drill holes.
