Hey DDBB, correct, you wouldn't use directional drilling to core. Drill a vertical with motor (might not even need it) + MWD to actually hit the target. If you haven't got a win, run surveys to identify conductors, plug the hole higher up and directional drill your way in required direction/s until you find what you are looking for. Drill along to define the trend, then you can go back with a diamond rig to core the trend. Gotta find it first rather than poking at it and missing it.

There are definitely a few CSG entry level players + directional companies that could do it at very reasonable cost.

Just throwing it out there since geology seems to be a bit more challenging, that's all
