GJ - do you actually grasp the concept of how shorting works ? The Nab are middle men they are making money by lending someone elses stock to the men in black on the column to the right - they are getting a fee for doing this - they are taking no risk - Its the super funds that are the dummies for letting their stock get loaned for a nominal interest offset to be sold to reduce the value of their investment. Yes they will use the argument the shorts will have to be covered and over time the super funds will be in front as the price recovers - In a perfect world that may be true but shorts can be covered in other ways -off market placements or conversion of options for example
