They are not. What they have done is to use their tech to review the video feed from the cameras, IMO. So rather than have an operator viewing the screens, they claim to be able to achieve the same result with a software / hardware add on solution.

I don't think number plate readers are OCR - they are far smarter than that. Which is an interesting point - if the number plate readers are capable of detecting thousands of cars an hour, including switching lanes and all the hard to read plates, with an extremely high accuracy rate, then why is not similar tech being used in Casinos ?

So the BRN offer can read the cards from a video feed - been done years ago in software.

The claim is that they can detect dodgy situations where a player, or the croupier are cheating. In order to self learn the setup must have been monitoring for many tens of thousands of games. Cheating by definition is a game of cat and mouse between the punters and the casino. Has one cheat gets blocked the punters try something else. This is also a little more rare these days due to the highly sophisticated surveillance systems.

So how does a self learning chip, learn all the various cheats that can be applied? Over a period of a few weeks at one table there would not be sufficient data for it to self learn for all known cheats, unless someone has taught it. We know that can't be the case as the whole premise of BRN is that it is a self learning chip with zero programming.

Anyway Mr market liked the story, which has cleared the last 6 months of downturn. Another 16c to go and all punters on BRN will be in profit. Best of luck.
