Roo is a penny dreadful. The overwhelming consensus for a long time has been that penny dreadfuls aren't real businesses but mere gambling mechanisms. Most businesses on the ASX that aren't penny dreadfuls, actually have a real business underneath them. Like Woolworths or CBA. But the typical gambler doesn't want to buy CBA or WOW because something like CBA can't go up 5 times from $100 to $500 on the back of an exciting announcement, but penny dreadfuls can. That's the reality of investing in 1 or 2 cent stocks on the ASX.
