Previous drilling results of26m@1% Cu in RAT15 and[email protected]% Cu in Ruddygore1. These holes were in the vicinity of the Ballymore hole BRURD002 which had chalcopyrite mineralisation over 77m from 4-81m and in the same hole over 33m from 178-211m. It is not possible to predict based on the information in the announcement whether "moderate" chalcopyrite mineralisation is in the 1% range of the previous holes or the 0.4% range of other holes at Ruddygore. I would expect the description of "a number of more discrete intervals of higher grade copper mineralisation" to be in that 1% up to the recorded production grade of 4.5% copper range.
BMR are clear that "The Ruddygore prospect represents a bulk tonnage porphyry copper target and all holes in the current program have encountered strong alteration with extensive veining, brecciation and faulting. Drilling has intersected several broad zones of moderate sulphide (chalcopyrite-pyrite) mineralisation."
Given the high-grade production history and historical assay results from deeper and unmined levels in the main shaft, and from drilling, this porphyry system has significant zones of high-grade copper ore. The potential for a large bulk tonnage discovery is real, especially when the Ruddygore East and other targets are included.
I hope they drop a hole or two into the other prospects while they are on site at Ruddygore. The assay results will be very interesting.
