Ruddygore porphyry copper system is a compelling drill target. I am so pleased that Ballymore is drilling a number of holes to test it properly, a few more deeper holes into the guts of the IP anomaly would have been even better. We know that we have a porphyry copper system with old workings at surface and drill results show that it not just one of those low grade porphyry copper systems. Results of 26m@1% Cu in RAT15 and
[email protected]% Cu in Ruddygore1 with other holes showing
[email protected]% Cu and 6.4-13 g/t silver.
The Ruddygore Mine was mined from 1896 to 1909 and produced 1,450 tons of copper from 32,750 tons of handpicked ore at a grade of 3.9% Cu and 56 g/t Ag.
The drill programme is drilling a >500ppm Cu soil anomaly centred on the old mine workings with coincident magnetic anomaly and a large deep IP anomaly. This is a very high quality target and drilling will certainly hit copper mineralisation. The dimensions and grade are the real question.
The porphyry footprint is very classical in shape and size and the coincident copper and bismuth soil anomaly delineate the almost circular porphyry copper stockwork and breccia hosted deposit located within the Ruddygore granodiorite. The zinc-lead soil anomalies are present but the copper-bismuth is a much more accurate guide to the location and dimensions of the porphyry.
Matthews Pinnacle is 7km NE of Mt Leyshon and shows a similar rhyolite dyke ring with results of
[email protected] g/t incl.
[email protected] g/t gold and
[email protected]/t incl.
[email protected]/t gold. Seventy Mile Mount looks similar. Day Dawn in the same area has consistently high rock chip results with some big soil gold anomalies.
I am set and will watch this with great interest. One of the most exciting set of large targets assembled for a junior float for some time. Management knows the area so a big plus there.
