why not sell all your holdings then rebuy at a lower price.
You will end up with a lot more shares
EG $10000 @ 50 cents you bought gets you 20000 shares,, sell 20000 at 0.45 $9000 - $1000 loss
then use your $9000 to buy at 40 cents gets you 22500 shares
You now own 2500 more shares
