unfortunately they hired the wrong man in Jackman he panicked and got rid of good assets too early in Bank and Insurance to clear debt. The time to sell the whole Company was when those assets were still held. I believe Jackman resisted doing this as he would be out of a job long ago and would have missed his $1mill salary because i am sure no one will want to employ him.
Hard to believe Elders once bid for BHP!
