Of course commodity prices affect mining companies - no argument from me about that.
I was just saying that RVR operates and has costs and profit margins denominated in Australian dollars because they operate in Australia, pay wages and taxes in AUD, buy fuel, materials and pay contractors in AUD, have profit margins in AUD etc etc
RVR are an Australian base metal miner operating in QLD Australia, their mine isn't located in the USA.
The USD price of zinc would be very relevant for a US based Zinc mining company.
I would love to see a long term graph correlating the AUD price of Zinc vs RVR share price and then a USD price of Zinc vs RVR share price and see which correlation was 'better', that would be truly interesting to see. But I think we are actually argeeing with eachother that 'sentiment' - whether its in USD or in AUD and in RVR share price or the price of base metals can and often does overshoot and undershoot at various times, to deny that would be to say that the market is perfectly informed and rational at all times, which it often isn't in the short term.
