"A €1.8bn ($3bn) takeover battle playing out in Europe has thrown the spotlight on Australian listed plumbing fixtures business Reliance Worldwide as a potential takeover target.
The market value of Reliance Worldwide is $3.25bn, equating to about 15 times its forecast net profit for the 2023 financial year, otherwise known as its PE ratio.
Its value including debt is estimated to be 10.2 times earnings before interest, tax depreciation and amortisation.
Yet Finnish plumbing and heating systems provider Uponor has received a buyout proposal from another European trade player that values the company at 21 times PE and 10.2 times EBITDA..."
