PieChart - parents do take 2+ years to get approved, yes, but that doesn’t really matter - the key thing is that now they’ve applied for it they can start disclosing the previously ‘secret’ method, both in future feasibility studies and to other parties etc.

I doubt other projects will start using the IP though until after the patent is approved. They may be able to start marketing it to other parties though for if/when it is granted.
