One could be mistaken for thinking that the BOD seems to want VMC as a private company the way it’s running at the moment.... While I understand that they don’t want shareholder dilution as the reason for the JV, the fact is value as reflected by share price is not going anywhere. My initial feeling was the reason they choose RXL as the joint partner was the experience of the MD of RXL in the finance industry and therefore that would be the best chance of raising the capital for the Youanmi Mine refit/ upgrade etc which is in the order of $25 million and is the key for unlocking the wealth of this region ( for both parties). However this has a counter effect I guess of A.P having such good connections in the money market that RXL has excitement while VMC story has developed inertia. Retail is not seeing a reason to put $$ here. In the short term they need to develop their own narrative. And RXL hasn’t even earned into any part of the JV yet!
