because you misunderstand the nature of the company:
for 20 years it's been a research lab.
now it has to be a business.
it's that simple.
and I can tell from your posts your background is in finance/commerce. and I have a feeing you're going to be sorely disappointed with what you're going to find under the hood. because most people here are science orientated, not business oriented. which has been fine for the last 20 years as a research lab.

@Pledge was being tongue in cheek with his post about FDA approval being the worst thing to happen to MSB, the change in the nature of the business IS the worst thing to happen to the pious faithful. the cheer squad really don't know how to cheer for anything but science.
hence the pre occupation with the next approval. salvation will come with the next approval. the next the next the next.
and I've said before, I've found the cheer squad to have great utility in pumping the price when I've held. I think they do an effective job (ethical? dubious). but I think their wheels will fall off now they have approval and need to do business because they just don't have the experience.
even the CFO question remains open ended. in a company with the MC... wow.
financial hardship and CR's ahead as far as I can see. it's a market darling rn.
