if everyone expect complicated drug to come on the market at production costs, what is the incentives for Companies to take their ideas to the various stages;
Discovery Phase
Preclinical Development
Clinical Trials (Phase I, II, and lll)
Regulatory Approval and Manufacturing
Post-Marketing (Phase IV) and Ongoing Costs
These stages cost hundred of millions of dollars.
Who has been supporting the company through thick and thin? Shareholders. Then what is wrong for shareholders to expect some kind of return at some point in time?
