In my experience it could will speed up the growth but the main thing is it increases yields by a large factor. It will still take time to actually grow a crop harvest it and then do the math. Make a decision install/buy and take delivery of this tech. If the company is going to give away initially to be repaid at a later date this could cause a rush of orders if the tech is seen to be good. This rush will cause a potential cash flow problem for them Imo.
