Worked offshore for years involving laying pipelines and installing oil and gas platforms. Always had Rusty written on my hard hat. Some wag changed it to Crusty one day as a joke.
I used to have a Leatherman like tool on my rigging belt as well a rope knife, shifter and other tools. The leatherman came in handy on many occasions prompting the deck foreman to call me Crustymagyver. It never stuck. Neither did Crusty.
