The newspaper journalist's words do not represent the company - so you're assuming that "BPT is looking for a big highly accretive acquisition". Remember that company strategy (p5 2018 annual report) includes both to "maintain financial strength" and "pursue compatible growth opportunities".
By the way, Beach's acquisition of the Lattice assets was not announced by the media (to the best of my knowledge) before the deal was done.
