They 'trigger' the "stop loss" points along the way ...either up or down!
For example you ,(or your broker) will often have a trailing stop...in place set automatically each day ,at say, 5% below yesterdays close .
The few shares sold trigger off the stop loss & drop the share price accordingly ...
Is that as clear as mud...or what!!
basically don't worry about it ...its all part of the traders system.
