A structural engineering business founded in Houston in 1976 has been acquired for the second time since 2013.
Illinois-based IMEG Corp. acquired the business from Australia-based Cardno Ltd., according to a June 4 press release. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Cardno acquired the business, formerly known as Haynes Whaley Associates, in 2013 for as much as $22.25 million. At the time, the firm had 93 employees across its three offices in Houston, Austin and Reston, Virginia. With $15.41 million in 2012 local gross billings, Haynes Whaley was No. 20 on the Houston Business Journal’s List of the largest local civil and structural engineering firms at the time.
Based on its $23 million in local revenue for fiscal year 2018, the business was No. 15 on the HBJ's 2019 Largest Houston-Area Civil & Structural Engineering Firms List. The firm does not appear on the 2020 List.

    Cheers
