Possibly - but index funds are massive, so it still might be a large number of shares. I've not been through this before, but one of my other stocks is joining the ASX200 in this rebalance, and the talk over there is that this will result in a significant jump in the share price.
I'm also not clear on how much they are allowed to buy or sell before the rebalance. It takes effect on Monday 22nd, so a lot of trades might take place then. Or maybe during the closing auction or crossing trades the prior Friday. I'm not really sure.
