Will be an interesting week , like you Danvestor I have no idea how it works, except for admission and removal from the ASX200 involves average MC for the previous 6 months.
Admissions:
ORE - previous 6 months average $1.9B ( current MC $2.33B)
CHN - $1.8B ($3.06B)
UWL- $1.4B ($2.19B)
Removals
ASB - $1B ($0.84B)
PRN - $0.6B (0.47B)
RSG - $0.6B ($0.62B)
One person (me) thought it was going to be a photo finish but we won by the length of the straight.
Hence, many weeks ago it would have been obvious to fund managers that CHN would be admitted to the ASX200. I believe they have already bought the shares needed for their portfolios.
This Friday I'm expecting a huge spike in volume as fund managers shift blocks of shares from one pigeonhole to another (ASX200) pigeonhole, similar to the spike in volume we had 3 months ago when we were admitted to the ASX300.
Seems since March 29th the Shortsellers worked out what was going to happen.
