The hedge funds and large traders certainly had a lot of fun with IMU being in the ASX 200 at the expense of poor retail shareholders, but RAC never made it to the ASX200 - it didn’t even make it into the ASX300. RAC was only ever included in the All Ords which is an historical index of no importance these days.
I do agree that including non-revenue companies in the ASX200 is not good for investors. The index funds having to buy just allows them to lend shares for massive shorting to occur in front of the needed capital raises.
