Back on 3 Sept, when the ASX Index rebalance was announced and IMU was included in ASX300, I wrote how I was looking forward to IMU being included in ASX100 possibly in early 2022.
In Sept, the only inclusion in the ASX100 was Virgin Money UK (VUK) with a MC of $3.5B at the time.
Guess what, IMU now has a larger MC than VUK:
- IMU = $3.21B MC
- VUK = $3:15B MC
Now, I am not saying IMU will replace VUK in the ASX100, but I am predicting IMU will be ASX100 in the March 2022 rebalance. We all know Dec 2021 ASX200 inclusion is a given.
Proactive fund managers and investors are positioning not only for ASX200 but ASX100 ...I am also guessing this is the reason the strong demand in IMU.
