On march 19th we added almost 90m short positions in a single day with no news apart from entry to ASX 200

That 90m shares represents 2x Daily Trading volume in a single day

It is 100% clear the people entering the short needed the company to be in the ASX 200 in order to open the position.

These are traditionally institutions

They entered the position at 92c therefore they made a bit of profit

Now that we are out of the ASX 200 - This 90m shares ends up exiting almost immediately

THEREFORE leaving the ASX 200 = having twice the daily trading volume on the BUY SIDE = 90M shares to be bought

The opposite view is entry to ASX 200 attracted institutional investors that will now exit.. That is playing out today in AGY but contrary to perception, the data says otherwise. Ever since we entered ASX200 our share price lagged the broader industry



Therefore the ASX200 investors were net Short! Exiting the ASX200 serves to reverse this into a net LONG

Furthermore, I expect given the profitable position these sophisticated unemotional funds will exit at open creating a massive short squeeze for any dimwitted amateur shorter wanting to hold on against overwhelmingly positive news flow... Brave or Silly - time will prove the latter.
