VW group basically owns those big name german car manufacturers, and after a certain emissions scandal I like to think that the way forward (EV) is very obvious to them.
If i'm not mistaken, it was a top designer from Audi (dont quote me on that could have been BMW) who was head hunted by Kia and is responsible for designing the Kia Stinger.
I could ramble all day about this stuff but essentially my point is that all of these manufacturers are in bed with each other whilst also competing with one another. If one major manufacturer decides to go full EV the rest will have no choice but to race them to the finish.
