Giddy up!! Fantastic news - now we've got 3 sites across two states. Maybe the WA Libs will pull their effing finger out and allocate the LEED funding that should have gone out in December.
If WA miss out on the first demonstration site, it'll be a shocking look for the Libs, given their lack of green motivation and Labor's unmitigated support for the technology.
And make no mistake - the SA's are keen as mustard to have it. Dont forget that in the Fed Lib's election campaign they highlighted that manufacturing the CETO units would be an ideal fit for the skills of the automotive industry in SA. A site for the potential manufactuting plant near Adelaide was even picked out (some industrial complex - cant remember the name - but it's on the net somewhere).
With auto workers being laid off or having their jobs threatened, the SA govt would love to scoop the WA libs with a new "green wave" of jobs to absorb those workers into the future.
And wouldnt feb labor love to put their renenewable energy fund money in SA instead of WA.
The SP might not adequately reflect the importance of this announcement - but behind the scenes I'm sure it'll whip everyone into shape and stop any unnecessary delays to the support CNM should and will receive at a state and fed government level.
