Government under pressure to develop wave power plant

The State Opposition says Western Australia is at risk of missing out on the opportunity to develop the country's first commercial wave power plant.
Labor's Climate Change spokeswoman Alannah MacTiernan says the Government must honour innovation grants promised by the former government to ensure Western Australia is the first state to establish a wave power plant.
Ms MacTiernan says Labor had set aside more than $9 million from the Low Emissions Energy Development Fund last year and wants to know why the Liberals have not announced the successful recipients.
"Wave power in particular is a fantastic opportunity for the south west of Western Australia, we've got one the strongest and most reliable wave sources," she said.
A Government spokeswoman says a funding announcement is set to be made soon.
