Thanks Jukes. Excellent work. Agreed, a few MW here and there is not significant in the scheme of things apart from PR and commercial demonstration. They need to plan for generating capacity in the order of GW to make a difference and bring down costs. Remember, just at Penola they have a total 132,000 PJ geothermal resource, with reserves to come soon...
According to their presentation, 1,000 PJ is sufficient for a 100 MW power station for 30 yrs. So 132,000 PJ? By basic extrapolation, that's 13.2 GW for 30 years! Of course that is for measured, indicated and inferred resources, which are not necessarily economically extractable, but you get my drift.
