Dontthey insert a metal liner, cement it in place, and then perforate it with smal explosive charges. The inistial flow will then need to be cleaned up / stabilised to get the final flow (takes a few days usually). Perhaps reperforate it with additional holes if they needs better flow and they have good pressure.
